Nelson Mandela's 46664 HIV/AIDS Charity Concert

So, the annual HIV/AIDS 46664 charity concert hosted by Nelson Mandela went off well last night. Amy Winehouse actually gave a half way decent performance. Literally. Of the two songs she performed, "Rehab" and "Valerie", the first sounded shakey, while the second sounded pretty decent. She never sounds as smooth in concert as she does on CD but it was enjoyable, though she did nauseatingly change the second verse of Valerie to talk a little about Blake...and the "fact" that he's getting out in two weeks? WTF? I'm hoping she's been puffing the magic dragon and Jackie Paper has been telling her some bullshit 'cause Blake out of the chokey is the last thing Amy needs. She also did her pee pee dance and awkwardly pulled up her skirt like a fidgeting kingergartener while performing, but eh, you can't win 'em all.

MC Will Smith actually rapped a little, including The Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme, which is adorable. I'm sitting on the fence with this guy, like Luke Skywalker trying to balance both sides of the Force, I just can't decide if I love him or hate him. I do hate and purposefully excluded Leona Lewis (who also performed that night), simply because Perez loves her and keeps on having heart palpitations from all the pats on the back he gives himself for "discovering" her. Sad that I could hate someone just because Perez likes them, more so than a closeted *coughgaycough* Scientologist. Perez is just that much of a piggy loathesome piece of self promoting crap.

Also present were the music legends Annie Lenox and Quincy Jones, pictured above, as well as Josh Groban, the Sugababes, Queen, and Lewis Hamilton. You can read more about Nelson Mandela's charity and make a donation at 46664.com

Sounds like a good enough reason to me.
